How do I put a holiday countdown on my phone?
Add the holiday as an event in a countdown app, then put its widget on your Home Screen. On iPhone: touch and hold the Home Screen, tap Edit then Add Widget, and search for Countdown. On Android: long-press the home screen, choose Widgets, and find the app's countdown widget.
Step by step on iPhone
- In Event Countdown, tap + and add the holiday with its date. Give it a colour and an icon so it feels like the trip.
- Touch and hold an empty area of your Home Screen until the apps jiggle.
- Tap Edit, then Add Widget, and search for Countdown.
- Pick a size, tap Add Widget, then tap the widget to choose your holiday.

On Android
Add the event in the app, long-press your home screen, choose Widgets, then drag the Event Countdown widget into place and pick the holiday.
The final stretch
