End dates and multi-day events

Some things are a moment; some things last a week. An end date turns a countdown into a range.

Add an end date

1. Open the event and tap Edit, or start a new one.
2. Under the date, tap Add End Date and choose when it finishes.

The event's card shows the whole range, like Mon 17 to Sun 23 Aug.

Start means the event's start, not the countdown's

A common mix-up once an event has two dates: the start date is not when the countdown begins. Counting begins the moment you create the event, and it always counts down to the start, the moment your event kicks off. The end date is simply when the event finishes, so the app knows how long it lasts.

What changes

• Before it starts, the countdown runs to the start.
• Once it begins, the event stays in Future and counts to the end, so a holiday shows the days of holiday left rather than vanishing the moment it starts.
• In Calendar View, a multi-day event puts its dot on every day it covers, so the whole stretch is visible at a glance.
